4 inch thin wooden letters

$1.95

These are unfinished birch plywood letters. They are cut and lightly sanded for you to paint. These will paint nicely with house or craft paint. This is economical for those who want to paint their own letters or even to decoupage them.

All letters are measured off of the shortest letter for that font. You may get letters that are taller than what you ordered.

Price is per wooden letter. If you want 1 name, enter it into the letters wanted section and the shopping cart will automatically calculate the total when you add it to your cart. If you want multiples of the name or letter entered, change the quantity box to the number desired.

Letters are 1/4" thick.

You must enter the name exactly as you want it. Please make sure to double check this when you order!

Inside use only.
Here are the options you can choose from:
Name - one capital letter and the rest lowercase
Natural height wood letters are based on the smaller lowercased letters and not the larger uppercased letters.
name - will be all the height ordered and lowercase
Lowercase letters are based on the smaller of the lowercase letters such as the a,c and e. The taller lowercase such as the b,d,f and t are about 1 to 2 inches taller.

NAME - also will be the height ordered, but all in capitals
Wooden Letters.net is one of the few companies that offers all uppercase letters for no extra charge.

You can see all of the fonts below by typing the letters that you want after the Letters Wanted: section and choosing the font you would like to see. The image will refresh automatically every time you make a change.

This is how we paint letters in our own shop everyday.

How to Paint Wooden Letters

1 - Dust off sawdust. We try to get most of it off, but sometimes we miss a little bit.
2 - Paint with your choice of paint and favorite color. Allow to dry.
3 - Sand with 150 or 220 grit sandpaper.
4 - Repeat steps 1 to 4 two more times (you may need to paint another coat if the color isn't providing a good coverage).
5 - Decorate with your favorite ribbons, stencil or hand paint designs or even use paper and scrapbook the letter!
6 - Enjoy and show off to your friends (don't forget to let them know about us!).

We use both house paint and craft paint. Most anything that works for wood will be fine. We use foam brushes for painting as it seems to stand up to the abuse better. Paint brushes tend to be hard to get into the small spots.

We have found that by sanding first, it ends up taking longer. The wood always end up being rough after painting due to the water in the paint.
